The Faith Art Prize 2026: £25,000 First Prize – Celebrating the Art of the Sacred

adminOpportunitiesArt & Design2 weeks ago9 Views

The Faith Art Prize returns – celebrating the art of the sacred and offering artists worldwide the chance to get their work seen by a prestigious panel, exhibit in London, and receive awards totalling £30,000.

Previously known as the Laudamus Award, the Faith Art Prize invites contemporary art exploring faith, devotion and spirituality – encouraging new interpretations of sacred narratives, symbols, and devotional imagery. Open to artists at all stages of their careers, from amateur to professional, emerging to established.

First Prize: £25,000 | People’s Choice Award: £5,000

Deadline: Thursday 1 October 2026, 5pm.

About the Prize

The Faith Art Prize celebrates contemporary art that engages with the sacred – however that is interpreted by the artist. Open to artists worldwide, working across all disciplines, media and techniques, the Prize encourages fresh perspectives on:

  • Sacred narratives and stories

  • Religious symbols and iconography

  • Devotional imagery and practices

  • Spirituality and transcendence

Up to 100 works will be shortlisted for exhibition in a central London venue.

The Prize will coincide with the Christian Art Conference (14 November 2026 at the QEII Centre, London) – a one-day gathering of artists, theologians and cultural leaders exploring the relationship between beauty and faith. Artists entering The Faith Art Prize will be offered a discounted ticket to the conference.

Up to 15 shortlisted works will be reproduced and displayed at the conference.

Framing & Display Guidelines

2D works: Where possible, shortlisted works should be presented in frames. If unframed, you must supply all fixings and hanging methods alongside installation instructions.

Quality matters: Framing is an integral part of presentation. If framing is not done to an appropriate standard, a curatorial decision may be made to present your work through an alternative method.

Wrapping advice for couriered works:

  • Use foam and bubble wrap on corners

  • Tough exterior

  • Wrap whole work in medium-weight sheet polythene with parcel tape

  • Leave a turned tab on one end of each strip of tape to assist removal

  • Consider an additional sheet of corrugated cardboard for surface protection

In-person delivery: Work should be delivered unwrapped (no storage for packaging – keep packaging for collection).

Fixings: Supplied and used by organisers unless work has specific installation requirements. No projections from the back of frames to avoid damage to other works.

International Entrants – Important

If sending work from outside the UK, you must complete an outbound proforma shipping document (instructions provided with selection notification). All customs duties must be paid by the sender before artworks can be released.

Do not use national postage services due to customs delays. Recommended: DHL, FedEx, or art-specific couriers.

Framing or mounting (if required) is the artist’s responsibility and must be carried out before delivery.

Sale of Work

Shortlisted artists will have the opportunity to sell their works via an online sales site throughout the exhibition and onwards until 1 January 2027.

Commission: 40% + VAT on sales.
